The College Station Parks and Recreation Department invites you to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy through music, dance, and community spirit at the 42nd Annual Keeping the Dream Alive Musical Celebration at the Lincoln Recreation Center on Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is free.

In this week's episode of "What's Up, College Station?", Senior Services Coordinator Kari Williamson joins Bobbie Lehrmann to discuss the City’s engaging lineup of programs and activities specifically designed for older adults and her passion for serving the senior community.

The College Station Parks and Recreation Department is offering residents an early holiday treat by distributing 1,450 free native trees on Friday, Dec. 12, at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex. The giveaway runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., or until supplies run out.

Local kids will soon have more ways to climb, slide, and swing at Castlegate, Merry Oaks, and Southern Oaks parks after the College Station City Council unanimously approved upgrades this week. The improvements are expected to begin in late February or early March and be completed in April, weather permitting.

A beloved holiday tradition comes alive with College Station's Christmas in the Park event on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Beachy Central Park. The Jingle Bell Fun Run and College Station Christmas Parade end at the park, where Mayor John Nichols will turn on the holiday lights at 6 p.m., to kick off a night of festive activities.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Stephen C. Beachy Central Park! College Station’s captivating Christmas in the Park collection of one million lights will burn from 6-11 p.m. each night from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day.
