The City of College Station and Silverfin Land Development LLC have announced Savannah Oaks, a 1,266-acre master-planned community in south College Station and the largest planned development in the city’s history. The master plan includes about 2,688 single-family homesites, two planned townhouse sites, potential multifamily opportunities, more than 285 acres of parkland and open space, and a 162-acre mixed-use district along Highway 6.

Residents have a direct say in the next chapter of College Station's retail growth. This quarter, Shape College Station, the City's quarterly community survey led by Grow College Station, asks the question: What store or shopping brand would you like to see come to College Station? The survey takes less than a minute to complete and is open through Nov. 30.

The College Station City Council on Thursday approved purchase and economic development agreements with Bass Pro Shops and Dallas-based Corinth Properties, moving forward a 28-acre destination retail and mixed-use development in South College Station's emerging Midtown district. The action comes during a strong season for College Station retail and entertainment.

In this week’s episode of “What’s Up, College Station?,” Assistant Director of Economic Development Brian Piscacek discusses the City’s new “Shape College Station” survey campaign. The interactive survey lets residents vote for and submit their preferred new businesses — starting with restaurants — and updates live every 24 hours to help guide local retail recruitment.

In case you missed it: At its Sept. 10 meeting, the College Station City Council discussed the anticipated impact of the Terafab project in Grimes County and College Station’s readiness to address associated opportunities and challenges. Chief Development Officer Michael Ostrowski’s presentation highlighted regional growth trends, development and infrastructure capacity, and housing needs.

College Station City Council provided direction to finalize two separate purchase and economic development agreements that will bring a 14-acre Bass Pro Shops, along with an additional 14-acre mixed-use development by Dallas-based Corinth Properties to one of the city's fastest-growing corridors.
