College Station City Council provided direction to finalize two separate purchase and economic development agreements that will bring a 14-acre Bass Pro Shops, along with an additional 14-acre mixed-use development by Dallas-based Corinth Properties to one of the city's fastest-growing corridors.

This week, College Station joins communities across North America in recognizing Economic Development Week and the work of the professionals behind the scenes who are building stronger, more resilient local economies. College Station-Bryan is ranked No. 28 nationally and No. 3 in Texas on the Milken Institute's annual list of the nation's best-performing large cities. The rankings are based on 13 indicators that reflect a metropolitan area's capacity to sustain strong labor market growth, maintain high living standards, and encourage innovation.

The College Station City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday at 3 p.m. at City Hall to discuss a potential convention or multi-use center. The meeting will be streamed live on Optimum Channel 19 and at cstx.gov/cstv19.
