Deck your yard with a free Texas native tree this holiday season

The College Station Parks and Recreation Department is offering residents an early holiday treat by distributing 1,450 free native trees on Friday, Dec. 12, at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex. The giveaway runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., or until supplies run out.

The festive giveaway supports ongoing environmental efforts, including the Cooling College Station Plan, Bird City and Tree City USA initiatives. The trees will help lower neighborhood temperatures, support native wildlife, and add lasting beauty to local yards.
