Special Council meeting on Monday to discuss convention, multi-use center

The College Station City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday at 3 p.m. at City Hall to discuss a potential convention or multi-use center. The meeting will be streamed live on Optimum Channel 19 and at cstx.gov/cstv19.

Legends Global will provide a presentation outlining its business model and exploring potential opportunities for a multi-event center in College Station. The Council will provide its direction on potential next steps.

In October 2024, the City Council approved a contract with Hunden Strategic Partners to conduct a convention center needs analysis. The study was structured in two phases: Phase I focused on assessing potential market demand for a facility, while Phase II addressed facility design and programming, site evaluation, feasibility, financing options, economic impact, and return on investment.

In February, the Council received the Phase I findings and directed staff to proceed with Phase II. Hunden Strategic Partners presented the Phase II report to the City Council on July 24, and the final report was delivered to the City Council on August 22.
