Marion Pugh construction update: New closures and reopenings

Significant traffic changes take effect Monday on Marion Pugh Drive as road construction enters its next phase, bringing a mix of new full closures and reopened sections.

• Marion Pugh Drive will be fully closed from the Callaway Villas main entrance to the Stadium View southern exit. The section will remain completely blocked to traffic for about 10 weeks, with a tentative reopening date of Aug. 28.
• The completed Phase 1A segment of the project—stretching from George Bush Drive to the Callaway Villas main entrance—will reopen to normal, two-way traffic. Standard two-way traffic flow remains unaffected on the southern end of the corridor between Holleman Drive and the Callaway Villas southern driveway.
• The intersection at Luther Street remains entirely closed. Crews are continuing extensive utility work at the intersection to replace and upgrade waterlines.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes, expect delays, and exercise caution around construction crews and posted detour signs throughout the summer.
