College Station continues to solidify its reputation as one of the nation’s premier communities, jumping nine spots to be rated the 25th-best place to live in the United States by Livability.com.

The 2026 rankings, which evaluate cities based on economic data, quality of life, and local amenities, highlight College Station’s unique blend of "Aggieland" culture and mid-sized city efficiency. According to the report, the City’s high standing is fueled by its exceptional educational system, robust economic stability, and a cost of living that remains well below the national average.

Livability’s 2026 Highlights:

  • Safety First: Ranked the 20th-safest place to live in the U.S.
  • Educational Leader: Ranked 13th nationally for overall education.
  • Ease of Living: Cited for short average commute times and 1,900+ acres of public parkland.

The city also received top marks from Niche.com, which placed College Station as the 30th-best city to live in America and the 27th-best for families. Notably, our local public schools were ranked 11th best in the country, further cementing our status as a top destination for families and professionals alike.
