City of College Station to host blood drive on June 30 at City Hall

The City of College Station will host a community blood drive from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, in the Bush 4141 Community Room at City Hall, in partnership with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Residents are encouraged to invite family, friends and neighbors to take part.
Walk-ins will be accepted, but advance registration is encouraged to ensure adequate staffing.
Only about 3 percent of eligible Americans donate blood, even though 62 percent of the population qualifies:
- Most donors can give blood every 56 days.
- Someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion every two seconds.
- A single donation, which typically takes about an hour, can save up to three lives.
The most common reason people don’t give is that no one asks them — and the City of College Station is asking!
