Area entities to participate in emergency notification drill on April 2

Brazos County, College Station, Bryan, Kurten and Wixon Valley will participate in a statewide emergency notification drill on Thursday, April 2, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The coordinated exercise allows cities and counties across Texas to test systems used to alert the public during emergencies.

What to expect:

1. Your cell phone may receive a test alert from Brazos County Emergency Management.
2. No registration is required to receive these alerts—they are sent based on your location.
3. If you don't receive the alert, verify that Emergency Alerts are enabled on your device.

The drill is coordinated by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to ensure warning systems are ready for real emergencies.
