The City of College Station will proclaim “Aiden Ross Day” in honor of “The Voice” champion at a special community celebration at Visit College Station (1207 Texas Ave.) from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Admission and parking are free. The College Station native was crowned the winner of NBC’s popular series on Dec. 16.
City of College Station offices and facilities will be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Solid waste and recycling collections will operate on the normal schedule. On Saturday, the northbound lane of Marion Pugh will be closed from George Bush Drive to south of Luther Street as the first phase of the roadway rehabilitation begins. The Luther Street intersection will be closed. Construction on Phase One is expected to take about eight months.
