Starting Monday at 8:30 a.m., Graham Road will be closed east of Longmire Drive for about a week for utility work. A detour will be in place
Lincoln Avenue will be closed from west of the Aloft Hotel to Grand Oaks Circle beginning Tuesday as Phase 2C of the Lincoln Avenue Rehabilitation Project begins. The Lincoln rehabilitation work is scheduled for completion in April.
Greens Prairie Road will be closed on Tuesday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. between I&GN Road and Wellborn Road as Union Pacific crews finish the railroad crossing maintenance work that began last weekend. The recommended detour is I&GN Road to South Dowling Road.
Starting Monday, Krenek Tap will be closed to through traffic from Dartmouth Street to Central Park Lane for about two months. Residents will have access, and detours will be in place as crews install drainage infrastructure as part of the Krenek Tap Rehabilitation Project from Texas Avenue to State Highway 6.
South Dowling Road will be closed on Tuesday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. between Koppe Bridge Road and Wellborn Road as Union Pacific crews complete routine maintenance on the railroad crossing. Detours will be in place.
On Monday, the City of College Station will begin Phase 2 of the William D. Fitch Parkway Rehabilitation project from Tonkaway Lake Drive to Rock Prairie Road. The project is expected to take about a year.
A water line leak on Olympia Way Tuesday afternoon left 150 units out of water in the Sutter’s Mill Condos. Unfortunately, the water line was deeper than expected, making excavation more dangerous, especially in extremely wet soil. The repair work will resume early Wednesday.
The City of College Station will host a Vendor Training Workshop on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Bush 4141 Community Room at City Hall to help vendors understand how the City evaluates Invitations to Bid (ITBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
Most City of College Station offices and facilities will be closed Monday for Labor Day. Solid waste and recycling collections will operate on schedule, and Adamson Lagoon is open from noon-6 p.m.
The College Station City Council considered new property tax rate calculations at a special meeting on Tuesday after receiving lower valuations than expected from the Brazos Central Appraisal District. The latest valuations were due to significantly higher litigation settlements.
