Fire Station No. 7 ($18 Million)
Since the city’s last fire station opened in 2012, the population has grown by 34%, and the call volume for emergency fire/EMS services has increased by 83%. The new fire station is being constructed on Greens Prairie Road West to improve response times in the city’s southern portion. The construction phase of the new facility has begun and is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2026.
Rock Prairie Road East Widening ($16.1 Million)
The design of the Rock Prairie East corridor from Town Lake Drive to William D. Fitch Parkway is almost complete, land acquisition and utility relocation are on-going. The project includes transforming the two-lane asphalt roadway into a three-lane concrete road with separated bike lanes and sidewalks along each side, storm sewer, and street lighting. Estimated project completion is Fall 2029.
Completed - Bachmann Little League and Senior League/Soccer Buildings ($7 Million)
New facilities replacing the 1984 and 1994 structures with expanded restrooms, concessions areas, and storage for user groups have been completed. The Certificate of Occupancy was issued on December 11th, 2025.
Completed - Pickleball/Futsal Courts ($1.7 Million)
The project in Anderson Park of three outdoor courts for pickleball, futsal, and other sports with full LED lighting, lines, and surfacing has been completed. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on May 20th, 2025.
Completed - Bee Creek and Central Park Tennis Court Replacement ($1.7 Million)
The reconstruction of the Bee Creek Park and Central Park tennis courts with new playing surfaces, court lighting, fencing, netting, and windscreens has been completed. The ribbon-cutting event was held on May 21st, 2025.
Mabel Clare Thomas Park Redevelopment ($3 Million)
Mabel Clare Thomas Park Redevelopment will enhance and maintain its existing character. Improvements may include a new pavilion with restrooms, historical/memorial elements, additional lighting, shade areas, and unique playscapes/ recreational elements for a wide range of ages and a more diverse and active community. Currently this project is being designed with construction expected to start in 2026.
Lincoln Center Area Improvements ($1.2 Million)
The design phase to provide restrooms at W. A. Tarrow Park and add pedestrian improvements has been completed. This project will improve connectivity and accessibility to the park and restrooms and is in the construction procurement stage. Construction should begin in the first quarter of 2026 and is estimated to be completed by the end of 2026/early 2027.
Completed - Central Park Operations Shop ($7.4 Million)
The 16,500 square foot facility, including a 11,500 square foot main building and a 5,000 square foot auxiliary building, replaced the original 5,780 square foot shop built in 1982. This project was completed ahead of schedule and approximately $3 million under budget. The ribbon cutting event was held on October 1st, 2025.
