BIKETOBER
Join us Saturday, October 10, for a fun-filled day of cycling, culture and community. The 8.6-mile Biketober ride begins at 9:30 a.m. at College Station City Hall, with onsite registration opening at 8:30 a.m. Greifswald’s Deputy Mayor is a lead rider at Biketober.
Starting at 9:00 a.m., the City Hall South Parking Lot will come alive with German-inspired food trucks, a passport exposition featuring local arts and culture organizations, and a cycling training loop for children. Riders will head out at 9:30 a.m., making their way to the farmers market at Bryan Midtown Park for a wellness stop and German live music before returning to City Hall around 11:00 a.m.
Not riding? There’s still plenty to enjoy! At College Station City Hall, guests can experience German-inspired yard games and literature storytelling while the cyclists are on the route.
After the ride, keep the celebration going at City Hall until 1:00 p.m. Enjoy more German-inspired live music, food trucks, lawn games, bike safety activities for kids, community booths and more.

Biketober is an artisan and citizen diplomacy exchange, a project supported by Goethe-Institut USA, Germany’s federal cultural institution, and hosted by Bryan-College Station Sister Cities International Association in collaboration with the Cities of Bryan and College Station, including a network of public-private partners.
The initiative advances local sister-city connections with Greifswald, Germany.
Welcoming the Autumn Season, Biketober highlights Greifswald’s innovative approach to cycling and its leading European cycling culture, creating opportunities to spark conversations about micromobility commuting across Bryan-College Station. Anchored by a free cycling demonstration ride linking Bryan and College Station, Biketober pairs active mobility with a German-inspired cultural exposition featuring food, music, literature, and interactive learning, along with a wellness tour of a seasonal harvest market. Together, these experiences raise awareness of the everyday benefits of shared streets, sustainable transportation, and active lifestyles while fostering cross-cultural exchange and deepening appreciation for cycling’s role in creating vibrant, connected communities.
By bringing together cycling, the arts, and community engagement, Biketober offers residents an exchange opportunity to gain insights from German cultural perspectives and have conversations about micromobility and more accessible, sustainable, and connected ways to move through—and experience—our community.
