Historic Online Library and Database

Project HOLD Archives

Project HOLD started in 2003 as a collaboration between city departments to digitize historical records and make them accessible to the public. It has since grown into an archive spanning the City of College Station’s history from a city and residential perspective. The Project HOLD archives include photographs, videos, oral histories, objects, and so much more.

We encourage you to become involved in our historic preservation efforts so that together we can foster a deeper appreciation of our community.

To make an appointment, scan documents or photographs, volunteer, or learn more about Project HOLD, call 979.764.3491 or email heritageprogram@cstx.gov.

Project HOLD offers a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to participate in our efforts to preserve our rich local heritage. We collect materials electronically or in-person by appointment. If you have oral histories, photographs, documents, or other items that could be valuable additions to College Station's history, please fill out our electronic form so we can get in touch with you!

Contribute to the preservation of local history by emailing heritageprogram@cstx.gov or calling 979.764.3491. Set up your oral history interview today!

Let us know what you’d like to discuss (EX: Texas A&M, Early Churches, Growing up in BCS, etc.).

We’ll put together questions to help with the flow of the conversation and set up a date and time for the interview.

After that we’ll talk on the record about your experiences and then transcribe the conversation. After you look it over and give approval, we’ll upload your story to Project HOLD.
