Rehab Team

Many fire departments need additional help to effectively handle rehab efforts when responding to an incident, so they turn to their volunteer Rehab team for help. CSFD Rehab members are graduates of the Citizens Fire Academy program, and provide critical services that directly affect the health and safety of firefighters such as:

  • Rest and Recovery
  • Relief from incident and environmental conditions
  • Rehydration
  • Nourishment

Community Action Response Team (CART)

The Community Action Response Team (CART) is staffed by graduates of the  Citizens Fire Academy program. These volunteers help residents who have experienced a fire or other emergency. CART also locates and coordinates support from community organizations and works closely with the Red Cross and Texas A&M's Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT).

CART's mission is to provide customer service and emotional support to residents who are dealing with stressful situations following a fire or other emergency that requires a resident to evacuate his or her home.

Citizens Fire Academy is not an official firefighting training program. For those interested in becoming a firefighter and would like more information about the process, please email csfire@cstx.gov or call 979.764.3705.
