Prohibited Waste: No bagged kitchen waste, construction or demolition debris, contractor-generated waste, hazardous, listed, or special wastes.

Special Collections:

Christmas Tree Collection Guidelines: Remove all lights, tinsel, ornaments, stands, and nails. Place out on bulk and brush collection day; natural trees will be mulched, flocked trees will be disposed of.

Deceased Animal Collection Guidelines: The Solid Waste Division collects deceased animals from city streets and residences. This includes small domestic animals – dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and geese. Customers requesting removal from residences shall place the animal in a plastic bag and place the bag curbside before submitting a request for pick-up. *The city does not collect deceased animals from animal clinics.

Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) should never be placed inside any cart for curbside collection and always brought to semi-annual HHW Events hosted by BVSWMA, Inc.

  • Contents should be kept in their original container.
  • Do not mix different materials to consolidate containers, as this could cause a reaction.
  • Place all items in a box and put them in your trunk or truck bed.
  • A technician will unload the HHW materials and return the containers upon request.
