After a crime or traumatic event, it can be difficult to know where to turn. Our department is prepared to help you find the assistance you or your family needs. The Victim Services program is designed to assist victims or witnesses that are experiencing difficult times after a crime or traumatic event with referrals to community organizations, assistance with the Texas Crime Victim Compensation Fund, or help with the criminal justice process.
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) strives to provide the highest quality investigative support to the department and citizens of College Station through follow-up on reported crimes. The division consists of 20 investigators, 4 sergeants, crime victim advocate, crime scene supervisor, 2 crime scene techs, secretary, crime analyst, and 2 police assistants. Additionally, CID personnel is assisted by a long-standing volunteer and internship program.
Personnel interview suspects and witnesses, analyze information, and compile comprehensive cases presented in court after consultation with local prosecutors. They work closely with other units within the department to effectively respond to criminal activity within the city and meet regularly with investigators from other agencies to address regional crime patterns.
The personnel assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division undergo advanced training in areas related to criminal investigation, interview and interrogation, search and seizure, and courtroom preparation. When a large scale incident occurs within the City of College Station, the men and women of the Criminal Investigations Division are ready to respond, support, and determine what has occurred.

The FBI-LEEDA Command Leadership Institute is a dynamic, intensive and challenging 4 1/2-day program specifically and uniquely designed to prepare law enforcement leaders for command-level positions.
The Command Leadership Institute's focus is to provide real life contemporary, best-practice strategies and techniques for those aspiring to command-level assignments. Command Institute faculty members are passionate instructors who have executive-level law enforcement and leadership experience.
Command Leadership Institute students will be engaged in such topics as credibility, command discipline and liability, dealing with problem employees, and leading change within an organization. The Command Leadership Institute is student-centered with a high degree of student involvement.
This innovative program is designed for executive level law enforcement leaders and focuses on the emerging challenges facing our profession. This highly-interactive program follows the FBI-LEEDA “Cops Talking to Cops” model of professional development. The seminar uses a wide range of source material and calls upon participants’ own professional experiences to facilitate individual development and learning.
