College Station athletics encourages and promotes healthy families and communities by placing a priority on involvement, teamwork and healthy competition. We offer a wide variety of sports leagues and instructional classes throughout the year for all ages and abilities, from recreational to competitive.

Parents and friends of youth athletes are encouraged to be more than mere spectators, by contributing their time as volunteer coaches.

    YOUTH PROGRAMS
    INTRODUCTION TO RUGBY • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-MARCH 20
    Learn the rules, style, and proper strategy in an introduction to rugby sevens. The introductory program allows beginners or novices to learn the game and develop skills. An instructor with coaching experience at the youth and college levels teaches the program. The goal is to simulate a rugby scrimmage toward the end of the program. Participants are encouraged to wear non-metal cleats and a mouth guard.

    FUNDAMENTAL FIELD HOCKEY • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-MARCH 22
    FUNdamental Field Hockey introduces participants to the game by engaging them in core concepts, rules, skills, and strategy. A former college player with coaching experience at the high school and college levels teaches the eight-week program. Equipment is provided, cleats and shin guards are recommended, and mouth guards are required.

    A fun introduction to tennis. Learn the basics of the forehand, backhand, serve, and volley in a fast-paced, interactive environment. A game night will take place during the last session for the players to play fun games and win prizes.

    JUNIOR INTERMEDIATE TENNIS • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-MARCH 23
    The intermediate program is for players who have received prior instruction from a tennis professional on the basics of tennis strokes. Players will focus on static and live-ball drills for singles and doubles during this class. A game night will take place during the last session for the players to play fun games and win prizes.

    HIGH-PERFORMANCE TENNIS ACADEMY • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-MARCH 26
    The academy is for high school to adult players who have received prior instruction from a tennis professional on the basics of tennis strokes and are interested in tournaments or leagues. Each session enhances players' technical, strategic, and physical capabilities through live-ball drills, match play and conditioning.

    JUNIOR ROUND ROBIN TENNIS • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-MARCH 26
    The match-play program is for junior players looking to gain experience for USTA/UTR tournaments and school matches and are interested in competing in a fun, social setting. Players will be guaranteed two sets of play each session (six-game, no-ad scoring) in a round-robin format so that competitors can play many matches against new opponents.

    ADULT PROGRAMS
    SOFTBALL LEAGUE • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-FEB. 12 • Late Registration ($20 late fee): Feb. 13-19
    Men's and coed divisions are offered in the spring, summer, and fall. Nights of play are determined by registered division. Coed teams consist of at least four females and six males with a maximum roster of 20 players. The round-robin style league concludes with a post-season tournament.

    KICKBALL LEAGUE • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-FEB. 12 • Late Registration ($20 late fee): Feb. 13-19
    Teams have 10-20 players with a minimum roster of four females and six males. The league uses an 8½-inch kickball. The round-robin style league concludes with a post-season tournament.

    ULTIMATE FRISBEE LEAGUE • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-FEB. 28
    BCS Ultimate runs the coed league, and individual or team registration is available. Team rosters may include up to 12 players. Teams field seven players at a time with five men and two women. Each team plays two games per night, with the first game starting at 6:30 p.m. Games are played on a 70x40-yard field and follow USA Ultimate rules. Individuals participate in an evaluation night, followed by a draft to be placed on teams.

    VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-MARCH 5 • Late Registration ($20 late fee): March 6-12
    Coed volleyball divisions are offered in the fall and spring. Teams may choose to play on Tuesday or Thursday nights, and no more than three men or four women can be on the court per team. Teams are assigned a division based on the registration questionnaire and prior league performance. The round-robin style league concludes with a post-season tournament.

    BASKETBALL LEAGUE • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-MARCH 19
    Teams play a round-robin style league play, concluding with a post-season tournament. Games consist of two 20-minute halves, and each team may have up to 12 players.

    ROUND-ROBIN TENNIS LEAGUE • REGISTRATION: DEC. 5-MARCH 21
    The league is for adults comfortable with match play and interested in competing in a lively social setting. Players are guaranteed a doubles set (six-game, no-ad scoring) and single set (six-game, no-ad scoring) each week in a round-robin format, giving competitors a chance to face new opponents constantly.
