The City of College Station believes everyone should experience the remarkable benefits of recreational activities, regardless of physical or developmental challenges. Socials bring together sports, playground fun, arts and crafts, and lawn games to provide options for learning new skills while having fun. Activity stations include games such as arts and crafts, cornhole, Connect Four, Jenga, dominoes, tic-tac-toe, soccer, basketball, football and more. Participants are paired with volunteers from Project Sunshine, whose goal is to build friendships while bringing smiles to children’s faces. Pre-registration is not required.

    *NEW* FIELD HOCKEY CLINIC
Field hockey is one of the most-played sports in the world. Players use a stick with a hook-shaped end to push or hit the ball down the grass or turf field and score in the opponent’s goal. The style and rules are similar to soccer, and the game is typically played 11v11 — including goalkeepers — and occasionally 7v7. The family-friendly clinic gives you a chance to try field hockey, play some fun skills-based games, and win prizes. Sticks and balls are provided, and closed-toed shoes are suggested. Pre-registration is not required.

SPIKEBALL ROUNDNET LEAGUE • REGISTRATION ENDS SEPT. 25
Spikeball Roundnet is a new sport that's sweeping the nation. It's similar to two-player volleyball, except instead of hitting a large ball over a suspended net, players hit a smaller ball down into a circular net very low to the ground. Teams can still take three touches at a time — for a bump, set or spike — just like in volleyball. The objective is also the same: Hit a shot the other team can't return. Divisions include competitive and recreation. Teams can consist of as many players as possible, but only two players are allowed to play in a match at a time. The competitive division will play by the official Spikeball Roundnet Association rules and the recreation division will be a little more relaxed on rules to focus on developmental skills. Equipment will be provided.

    Ages 18+ • $80/team • Wed. • Sept. 25-Nov. 13 • 7-9 p.m. • Brian Bachmann Community Park
