The Lincoln Recreation Center offers a wide variety of amenities and services aimed at improving the quality of life of College Station residents. Residents can take advantage of services in the areas of youth programming, senior services, special events, and community outreach. The facility includes two gymnasiums, game room, fitness room, multipurpose rooms, splash pad, and a 13,000 square foot covered pavilion. 

HISTORY

Originally constructed as the A&M Consolidated Negro School, the Lincoln Center is located at 1000 Eleanor in W.A. Tarrow Park. The facility has been used at one time or another as a neighborhood center, recreation center, senior citizen's center, maintenance shop, and was formerly the headquarters for the College Station Parks and Recreation Department. The center now provides a variety of recreational and social services to the citizens of College Station.

WINTER/SPRING SCHEDULE

    YOUTH PROGRAMS
    AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM • REGISTER TODAY!
    Guided by well-trained staff, kids ages 6-15 can engage in games, sports, arts and crafts, and have time for homework. Transportation is provided from South Knoll, College Hills, Rock Prairie, Southwood Valley, River Bend, Oakwood Intermediate and A&M Consolidated Middle School for those who have paid the appropriate semester fee and signed a waiver. Space is limited, and participants must be engaged in on-site classroom learning through CSISD. Dates are subject to change, and the program will follow the CSISD schedule.Register online or by calling 979.764.3779. Qualifying households can drop-off proof of eligibility at the Lincoln Recreation Center, Mon.-Fri. from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

    FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE
    5th-8th graders are invited to join us for an evening of free food, fun, and door prizes.

    GLOW-IN-THE-DARK DANCE PARTY

    Join us as we dance the night away with food, music, and games. Glow sticks and other glow items will be available, but feel free to bring your own.

    SENIOR PROGRAMS
    Outdoor programming begins Monday, March 1, at the W.A. Tarrow Pavilion. Class sizes are limited to 20 and require advance registration. Memberships are not required. To register, call 979.764.3779 or email cjohnson@cstx.gov. Participants are encouraged to bring their own coffee, drinks, and snacks. Food and drinks are not available.

    PROTOCOLS
    Senior programs are held outdoors to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19. Participants must wear a mask at all times, except when eating or drinking. Staff will ensure cleanliness of the outdoor facility and will disinfect furniture and equipment after every use. Click here for more information on our protocols. 

    INCLEMENT WEATHER
    To ensure that participants are comfortable and safe, staff will cancel outdoor programming in the event of inclement weather. This includes temperatures below 60, torrential rain, winds above 10 mph, and severe weather. When in doubt, reach out to the facility prior to arrival.

    W.A. TARROW PAVILION

    W.A. Tarrow Park was named in honor of the late principal of the old Lincoln High School. The adjacent Lincoln Recreation Center provides a variety of recreational and social services, including an indoor gymnasium, 1-mile lighted jogging trail and a playground.

    RENTAL INFORMATION

    FACILITY RENTALS
    Rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis and will not be held without proper documentation and fees. Reservations can be made by calling 979.764.3779 or by visiting the Lincoln Recreation Center, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Cash, credit card or check accepted. Checks should be made payable to “City of College Station.” 

    PAVILION RENTALS
    Pavilions are rented per day. Reservations are all-day and on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees must be paid in full at the time of reservation. Deposits will be refunded if facilities are left clean and free of damage. Reservations canceled within seven days prior to the rental date will incur a $20 cancellation fee. Pavilions may be used if they are not rented, but no access will be allowed to kitchens or restrooms.

    PAVILION RENTAL DEADLINES
    Monday-Thursday rentals must be made no later than 12 p.m. one business day prior to the desired reservation date. Friday-Sunday rentals must be made no later than 3 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the desired reservation date.

    DEPOSITS
    A security deposit is required for rentals. Portions or all of the deposit will be forfeited if damage, extra maintenance, or extraordinary cleanup occurs as a result of rental. Deposits will be refunded on the following conditions: (1) terms of your rental have been met, (2) facilities are left in good condition, or (3) cancellation procedures have been followed.

    CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
    Customers must cancel three days prior to the rental date to be eligible for a refund. If a cancellation is made fewer than three days prior to rental date, deposits will be forfeited. Refunds are processed within 30 days of request by check. No cash refunds will be issued.

    COVID-19 RESPONSE
    The Parks & Recreation Department will adhere to federal, state, city, and county guidelines to help avoid exposure and transmission of COVID-19 at events, programs, and facilities. Anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms with a temperature above 99.5 F degrees, or has come in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, is prohibited from participating or attending events or programs. Participants must acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that you or your children may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 through participation and that such exposure or infection may result in injury, illness, permanent disability, or death. The risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of yourself or others, including, but not limited to, city employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families.
