Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure, interactive science, or active play, we have it all for ages 3-15! Our goal is to provide exciting experiences through supervised, structured recreation in a safe and welcoming environment. Qualified instructors are carefully selected to ensure that your child has a fun time and learns the skills presented.

Registration is underway. You can register online, by phone at 979.764.3486, or stop by our Central Park office at 1000 Krenek Tap Road, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Full-Day Camp registration is in-person at the Lincoln Recreation Center. There are no residency requirements, but limited spots are available.

    Full-day campers are asked to bring a lunch, two snacks, and a drink. Half-day campers should bring a snack and drink. Limited spots are available.

    If your camper is registered for a morning (8 a.m.-12 p.m.) and afternoon (1-5 p.m.) camp in the same week, you can register them for a supervised lunch break from noon-1 p.m. Board games are available, and campers must bring their lunch.

    Think like a detective as we explore nature by problem-solving, searching for clues, asking questions, and observing the great outdoors. Campers uncover the mysteries of Earth’s rain forest, deserts, and tundra.

    Campers and counselors use Lick Creek’s trails for adventures, activities, and games as they learn about the world’s exotic landmarks, wonders, cultures, myths, and legends.

    OUTDOOR WILDERNESS SURVIVAL CAMP • REGISTRATION: APRIL 4-FRIDAY BEFORE FIRST CLASS DAY
    Activities take place at Lick Creek Nature Center and surrounding trails. Campers should bring sunscreen, water, and a snack. 

    Day 1: Explore American Indian and pioneer culture. Learn to find and build shelters to prevent getting lost in the wilderness and locate and identify edible and medicinal plants.
    Day 2: Discover how to find and purify water for drinking, make a fire by friction, track animals, and create primitive hunting tools.
    Day 3: We’ll make rope, survival baskets, bows and arrows, animal traps and snares, and throw spears.
    Day 4: Learn forester skills to observe wildlife better and practice your fire-building skills and how to light a campfire with a single match. 
    Day 5: Make soap and toothpaste out of native plants and learn the techniques for campfire cooking. The week ends with a final review and graduation, with each camper receiving an arrowhead.

    FULL-DAY SUMMER CAMP • SESSIONS ARE FULL, WAITLIST ONLY
    The camp offers kids ages 6-15 daily outdoor recreation, performing and creative arts, character and team-building exercises, local and out-of-town field trips, and more. Breakfast and lunch are provided, but campers are asked to bring a morning and afternoon snack. Registration is in-person at the Lincoln Recreation Center. Limited spots are available.     Campers develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills, and enhance their skill sets at the post, wing, or guard positions. Coaches emphasize fundamentals, team play, and basketball IQ, along with an in-depth analysis of conditioning and footwork. In addition, campers fine-tune shooting techniques, ball-handling skills, and team play tactics while developing positive attitudes. Caretakers for 3-5-year-olds must stay for the camp’s duration, and caretakers for 6-13-year-olds are encouraged to join them.

    TAEKWON-DO CLASSES • REGISTRATION: APRIL 4-FRIDAY BEFORE FIRST CLASS
    The class teaches physical and mental training for self-defense, health, and recreation. Learn principles and values to be a better person, athlete, and martial artist: become a champion. Jose Aponte has 26 years of uninterrupted training and experience in ITF taekwondo and is a sixth-degree black belt from the International Taekwondo Federation. He is an active member of the official ITF Taekwondo organization in the United States USOTO, with experience and participation in international championships and as a team trainer.

    Learn the importance of catching, throwing, and running with the football. In addition, coaches emphasize teamwork, consideration of others, self-discipline, and how to attain your potential in sports and life.
