Cybersecurity Information


The IT Cyber Security Team's goal is to establish an intelligent Cyber Security Program that defends and controls the risks to the city's information assets from theft, compromise, or attack. We:

Govern: The organization's cybersecurity risk management strategy, expectations, and policy.
Identify: Ensure the organization's cybersecurity risks are understood, communicated, and monitored.
Protect: Design, implement, and manage the organization's safeguards that address cybersecurity risks.
Detect: Identify cybersecurity attacks and compromises.
Respond: Take appropriate actions in response to a detected cybersecurity incident.
Recover: Restore assets and operations affected by a cybersecurity incident.



Project Management


The Project Management Office oversees various technology projects through initiation, planning, execution, and closing phases while ensuring they meet the scope, schedule and budget. Their mission is to:

  • Facilitate the successful execution of Business Transformation projects for the City of College Station while delivering projects in Scope, on Schedule and within Budget
  • Improve efficiency and minimize risks.
  • Promote transparency within Technology projects.
  • Foster collaboration within the City and align with the City’s and IT strategic goals.
  • Focus on stakeholder satisfaction.
    Project Definition
    A technology effort that meet at least one or more of the following criteria:

    Multi-departmental or citywide impact
    Labor and capital expenditures is $20,000.00 or more
    Revenue generating effort
    Minimum of 80 man-hours
    Application version upgrades (on premise or cloud)
    Location moves, adds, changes, requiring network, circuits and infrastructure that exceed 80 man hours


    IT Project Management Division performs the following functions:

    Manage Technology Projects for various departments at the City
    Improve communication between IT Department and Customer Departments
    Improve efficiencies through a defined framework for Project Management
    Lead IT Governance and Project Governance initiatives at the City of College Station
    Establish metric to measure project performance
    Create visibility into the Project life cycle
