Greater Northgate Small Area Plan

The Greater Northgate Planning Area covers University Drive from Wellborn Road to Texas Avenue and extends to the northern city limits. Key areas of interest are Northgate, the Northgate Entertainment District, Century Square, Hensel Park, Northpoint Crossing, and the North of Northgate plan area.

Between January and April 2025, community stakeholders contributed input through seven public meetings, two online engagement platforms, and a walking tour. These efforts yielded over 275 map-based comments, hundreds of participant quotes, and more than 50 action items recommended by a community stakeholder committee. This input is summarized in the Greater Northgate District Small Area Plan Engagement Report, which was presented to the City Council and Approved on July 10, 2025. On October 23, 2025, staff provided the City Council with an update and received additional guidance.
