October in College Station is shaping up to be spooktacular, with a frightful lineup of fun Halloween events for all ages. Whether you’re looking to scream at a haunted hike, relax with a movie under the stars, or score treats at a family festival, we have a spooky event for you!


Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire


Date & Time: Friday, Oct. 11, 8 p.m.

Location: Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater

Bring your blankets, chairs, and picnic baskets to the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater and enjoy a nostalgic favorite – Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – on our 32-foot-high inflatable screen. The movie starts at 8 p.m., but the gates open at 7 p.m. so that you can snag your favorite spot. Parking is free at Post Oak Mall, with accessible options near Colgate Drive.

Don’t forget that coolers must be 48 quarts or smaller, and please leave alcohol, glass containers, and pets at home.

Date & Time: Sunday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Location: Northgate

The Fall Homegrown at Northgate event celebrates local culture with live music, artisan vendors, and delicious food from local businesses. Stroll through the Northgate District and enjoy the best local talent and craftsmanship. It’s the perfect way to get in the autumn spirit!

Fall Fest & Haunted House

Annual Fall Fest & Haunted House


Date & Time: Thursday, Oct. 17, 5:30-8 p.m.

Location: Lincoln Recreation Center

From carnival games to a spine-tingling haunted house, the Annual Fall Fest & Haunted House has plenty of thrills for the courageous. Light refreshments will be provided, and costumes are encouraged!

If your organization is interested in setting up a candy booth, it’s free to participate. Contact the Lincoln Recreation Center to get involved.

Haunted Hike

Date & Time: Friday, Oct. 18, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Location: Gary Halter Nature Center

Thrill-seekers ages 13 and older can take a spine-chilling guided hike through Lick Creek Park to learn about local cryptids like the chupacabra and gator man. The hike doesn’t end with creatures lurking in the dark – stick around for classic monster movies, a spooky s’mores station, and games.

The registration fee is $5. Space is limited, so register soon to claim your spot.

Senior Autumn Fest

Date & Time: Thursday, Oct. 24, 5:30-8 p.m.

Location: Lincoln Recreation Center

Adults 55 and older can don their best Halloween costumes for a festive evening of food, music, dancing, and prizes at the Senior Autumn Fest. Live music, a cakewalk, and plenty of door prizes are ideal for celebrating the season.

Overflow parking with a shuttle service will be available from the Wayne Smith Athletic Complex.

Date & Time: Friday, Oct. 25, 5-8:30 p.m.

Location: Wolf Pen Creek Festival Site

The eco-friendly Trunk-or-Tree-t event is perfect for the whole family with trick-or-treating, games, prizes, food vendors – and free trees! It’s a supernatural way to celebrate Halloween and the environment. No pets, alcohol, or glass containers are allowed, and free parking is available at Post Oak Mall.

The event is held in partnership with the Texas A&M Forest Service.

Cops & Goblins

Date & Time: Monday, Oct. 28, 5-8 p.m.

Location: College Station Police Department

The College Station Police Department hosts an unbelievable evening of Halloween fun with the Cops & Goblins event at police headquarters. The family-friendly event offers a trunk-or-treat experience, bounce house thrills, hayrides, and plenty of activities kids will love. Dress in your best costume and snap photos with your friendly neighborhood police officers during an evening of treats, fun, and community spirit.

If you’re looking for a more relaxed Halloween experience, the Larry J. Ringer Library has a variety of spooky-themed activities:

Children’s Evening Storytime: Wed., Oct. 23, 5:30-6 p.m.

Adults Craft Night: Embroidery Hoop Spider Web, Wed., Oct. 23, 6-7 p.m.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest: Oct. 1-19; Judging on Oct. 21. Creative geniuses of all ages can enter the Pumpkin Decorating Contest! You can use paint, glue, markers, or other materials to decorate your jack-o’-lantern – but no carving.

For a final scare to close October, don’t forget to check out the four-day lineup of nostalgic spooky movies on the city’s government “ax-cess” television channel from Oct. 28-31. The movie marathon includes classics such as “Nosferatu,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” and “The Last Man on Earth.”
