The City of College Station’s Economic Development Department has been recognized for economic excellence by the Texas Economic Development Council. The organization announced the recipients at its annual winter conference.

The Economic Excellence Recognition Program highlights economic development organizations that meet a high professional threshold based on training completed by their governing board/council, the economic development director, and professional staff.

Certifications, professional memberships and activities, and organizational effectiveness of the economic development staff also contribute.

“This recognition is a testament to the innovative spirit and vision that drives our community,” College Station Chief Development Officer Michael Ostrowski said. “The award honors the dedication and hard work of our residents, businesses, community partners, local leaders, and staff who strive to create a thriving, sustainable, and dynamic economy. Together, we build a brighter future and set a standard for economic success and prosperity.”

College Station was among 72 economic development organizations across the state to receive the award.
Established in 1961, the TEDC is an Austin-based, statewide, non-profit professional association dedicated to developing economic and employment opportunities. The organization provides educational and legislative services to more than 1,000 members to support economic growth and develop strategies that promote a positive business climate.
