While the impact of COVID-19 precludes our usual block parties, festivals, and cookouts, we can still seize upon this opportunity to engage in the traditional NNO activities of turning on our outside lights and holding front porch vigils.
COVID-19 Safety Guidelines
Important points to consider when planning your NNO activities:
- Remember social distancing! Keep at least 6 feet of distance between members of your household and those of another.
- Don’t share food or beverages between households.
- Wash your hands and/or sanitize often!
- Refrain from participating in activities or games with neighbors from other households.
- We recommend conversing with immediate neighbors while staying on your own property.
- We do NOT recommend multi-household block parties, festivals, or cookouts.
- Please, do NOT participate in NNO activities if you are sick or feel unwell, or if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for, or been diagnosed with, COVID-19.
- Wear a mask if you find yourself at a legal gathering (less than 10 people) with neighbors from other households
Please adhere at all times to the Governor’s and Mayor’s Orders!
Register for a Visit from CSPD
The College Station Police Department supports National Night Out and believes it is important to come together as a community, bond, and take a stand against crime. CSPD will be happy to stop by for a brief visit to get to better know you and your neighborhood and answer any questions you may have. While we would love for these visits to mirror those from years past, the above COVID-19 Safety Guidelines will be required.
We WILL wear masks and keep at least 6 feet of distance.
As much as we would like to, for safety reasons we will NOT be able to:
- Shake hands
- Share food or drinks
- Participate in unlawful gatherings
- Allow anyone to handle or touch police equipment (sadly, this includes vehicle tours)
