ADOPT-A-STREET PROGRAM

The City of College Station's Adopt-A-Street program was launched in the Fall of 1988 to provide residents, businesses, neighborhood associations, community organizations, and student groups the opportunity to enhance the aesthetics of their community by collecting litter within the right-of-way of a TxDOT or city-maintained street or section of a street.

    How can I get involved?
    • Fill out an application for the Adopt-A-Street Program.
    • Read and understand the Adoption Agreement Terms and Conditions within the application.
    • Submit an “Exhibit A” of all participating members in your organization.
    • Read, sign, and submit an “Exhibit B” for EACH individual participating that is over 18 years of age.
    • Parents or guardians should read, sign, and submit a “Exhibit B” for EACH individual participating that is under the age of 18.
What am I required to do?
    • Schedule cleanup dates at least five business days before the scheduled collection date by emailing [email protected] and [email protected].

    • Collect litter along both sides of your adopted street or section of street four times per year for a minimum of two years.
What do I need to do before my scheduled cleanup?
    • Make sure all volunteers scheduled to participate are listed on the “Exhibit A” form on file with the City.
    • Make sure all volunteers scheduled to participate have an “Exhibit B” form on file with the Cit.
    • Pick-up requested safety vests, disposable gloves, trash bags, and paperwork the business day BEFORE your scheduled cleanup. You will pick these up from The City of College Station Municipal Court Building located at 300 Krenek Tap Road between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
    • Distribute safety vests, disposable gloves, and trash bags to participating group members.
What do I need to do after my cleanup?
    • Secure and place all used/filled trash bags at one sign location at your adopted street or segment of street for pick-up and disposal by the City’s Solid Waste Division on the next business day.
    • Return safety vests, any unused disposable gloves, and trash bags to the College Station Municipal Court Building located at 300 Krenek Tap Road on the NEXT business day.
    • Complete and submit a Cleanup Report Form online or turn in the hard copy of the form that you received when you picked up your safety vests, disposable gloves, and trash bags.
