Luther Street reopens today, just in time for the first Texas A&M University home game of the season. The completion of the water, drainage, and street portions of the Luther Street Rehab project marks a significant milestone in the ongoing improvements to our city’s infrastructure.
Larry Young Paving, in collaboration with city inspector Gage Lopez, worked extended hours to ensure the street was ready for game day, finishing the work three months ahead of schedule. Their dedication and hard work have been crucial to reaching this goal.
While the road will be fully open for the game, the project is approximately three weeks from substantial completion. Remaining tasks include the installation of sidewalks, signage, and striping. During this period, intermittent one-lane closures may occur on weekdays, but the street will be fully open on Texas A&M home game days to ensure smooth traffic flow and accommodate bus routes.
The City of College Station appreciates the community’s patience and understanding throughout the construction process.
