Are you curious about how your city works? Do you want to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of city departments and divisions? If so, the City of College Station Citizens University Program is just for you!

The City of College Station is proud to offer the Citizens University Program an exciting opportunity for adults to connect with their local government and become informed and engaged citizens. This unique program is designed to provide you with a behind-the-scenes look at the various departments and divisions that make our city run smoothly.

• Gain In-Depth Knowledge: Explore the fascinating world of local government and gain a comprehensive understanding of how your city operates.
• Meet City Leaders: Interact with city officials, department heads, and dedicated professionals who are passionate about serving our community.
• Hands-On Experience: Get a firsthand look at the daily activities, challenges, and successes of city departments through interactive workshops and site visits.
• Civic Engagement: Equip yourself with the knowledge and tools to become an informed and engaged citizen who can actively contribute to our city's future.
• Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for our community and build lasting relationships.

• Departmental Tours: Explore various city departments such as Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Planning and Development, Police, Fire, and more!
• Interactive Workshops: Engage in hands-on activities, discussions, and presentations led by city experts.
• Q&A Sessions: Have your questions answered by department leaders and city officials.
• Behind-the-Scenes Access: Witness the day-to-day operations that keep our city running smoothly.
• Graduation Ceremony: Celebrate your journey through Citizens University with fellow participants

• Must be a registered voter in Texas with preference given to those registered in College Station.
• You may not be running for political office during the duration of Citizens University.
• You must be able to commit to attending at least 6 of the 9 sessions.

If so, join us for the Citizens University for High Schoolers, proudly presented by the City of College Station!

• Civic Engagement: Discover the importance of civic participation and community involvement, leading you to become an informed and active citizen.
• Hands-on Experience: Get behind-the-scenes access to city departments and divisions.  Learn from the experts who keep our city running smoothly.
• Networking Opportunities: Build connections with city officials, professionals, and fellow students who share your passion for community betterment.
• Resume Enhancement: Enhance your college and job applications with a unique and impressive educational experience.
• College Prep: Gain practical knowledge and skills that will benefit you in your future college and career pursuits.
• Community Impact: Explore ways you can contribute to making College Station an even better place to live, work, and play.

• Interactive Workshops and Tours: Visit City Hall, Public Safety facilities, Parks and Recreation, and more!
• Guest Speakers: Hear from city leaders, experts, and professionals in various fields.
• Certificate of Completion: Receive recognition for your participation.

• Must be a Junior or Senior at a school within the College Station city limits.
• Must be able to commit to attending at least 4 sessions.
