Are you curious about how your city works? Do you want to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of city departments and divisions? If so, the City of College Station Citizens University Program is just for you!

The City of College Station is proud to offer the Citizens University Program an exciting opportunity for adults to connect with their local government and become informed and engaged citizens. This unique program is designed to provide you with a behind-the-scenes look at the various departments and divisions that make our city run smoothly.

Benefits of Joining Citizens University:

Program Highlights:
  • Departmental Tours: Explore various city departments such as Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Planning and Development, Police, Fire, and more!

  • Q&A Sessions: Have your questions answered by department leaders and city officials.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Access: Witness the day-to-day operations that keep our city running smoothly.
  • Graduation Ceremony: Celebrate your journey through Citizens University with fellow participants
Program Rules:
  • Must be a registered voter in Texas with preference given to those registered in College Station.
  • You may not be running for political office during the duration of Citizens University.
  • You must be able to commit to attending at least 6 of the 9 sessions.

Program Rules:
  • Must be a Junior or Senior at a school within the College Station city limits.
  • Must be able to commit to attending at least 4 sessions.
