College Station athletics encourages and promotes healthy families and communities by placing a priority on involvement, teamwork and healthy competition. We offer a wide variety of sports leagues and instructional classes throughout the year for all ages and abilities, from recreational to competitive.

Parents and friends of youth athletes are encouraged to be more than mere spectators, by contributing their time as volunteer coaches.

    HIGH-PERFORMANCE TENNIS ACADEMY • REGISTRATION: AUG. 2-SEPT. 24
    The academy is for competitive athletes who are playing high school varsity, ZAT, Champ, and Super Champ tournaments in Texas. The program enhances players’ technical, strategic, and physical capabilities through live-ball drills, match play, and conditioning. The academy is overseen by a USPTA-certified professional with more than 20 years of experience at qualified USTA junior and NCAA levels.

    Beginners learn the basics of the forehand, backhand, serve, and volley in a fast-paced, interactive environment. The final session is a game night with a chance to win prizes.

    JINGLE BELL FUN RUN • REGISTRATION: AUG. 2-NOV. 14 ($5 late fee): Nov. 15-28
    A fun run in its truest sense, the two-mile race isn’t timed and is intended as a fun way to kick off the annual B-CS Christmas Parade. The run starts at the corner of University Drive and South College Avenue and ends at the corner of Texas and Elm Avenue. We’ll have a shuttle waiting for you at the end of the route and knowing how much dogs enjoy a brisk jaunt, they’re welcome, too.

    The entry fee is $15 and includes a shirt and jingle bells if you register by Nov. 14. The cost is $20 during the Nov. 15-28 late registration period. Jingle bells are included, but you aren’t guaranteed a shirt. Packet pick-up is 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Stephen C. Beachy Central Park Office at 1000 Krenek Tap Road.

    WINTER BASKETBALL • REGISTRATION: AUG. 2-DEC. 12
    Participants will learn basic skills of basketball, teamwork, and training for the next level. Format is a six-game, round-robin and will include an end of season tournament. Each player should accumulate a minimum of two quarters of playing time for each game they attend. Games are played on weeknights between 6:30-9:30 p.m., and Saturday practices are between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Participants will receive a jersey. Interested in becoming a volunteer coach? Click here.

    Men’s and co-ed divisions are offered each spring, summer, and fall. Nights of play are determined by registered division. Co-ed teams consist of at least four females and six males with a maximum roster of 20 players.

    Teams have 10-20 players with a minimum roster of four females and six males. Teams play with 8½-inch kickball.

    Recreation and competitive divisions are offered in the spring and fall. Teams may choose to play on either Tuesday or Thursday nights. The eight-game, round-robin schedule concludes with a tournament. No more than three males or four females can be on the court per team.

    Drill tennis is designed for those interested in playing in tournaments or leagues. Each stroke is covered in fun live-ball drills and match play. Strategy and on-court tactics are discussed and integrated into the drills.

    ROUND-ROBIN TENNIS LEAGUE • REGISTRATION: AUG. 2-SEPT. 24
    The league is for adults comfortable with match play and interested in competing in a lively social setting. Players are guaranteed a doubles set (six-game, no-ad scoring) and single set (six-game, no-ad scoring) each week in a round-robin format, giving competitors a chance to constantly face new opponents.

    INTERMEDIATE TENNIS • REGISTRATION: AUG. 2-SEPT. 24
