College Station athletics encourages and promotes healthy families and communities by placing a priority on involvement, teamwork and healthy competition. We offer a wide variety of sports leagues and instructional classes throughout the year for all ages and abilities, from recreational to competitive.

Parents and friends of youth athletes are encouraged to be more than mere spectators, by contributing their time as volunteer coaches.

    FOOTBALL SKILLS CAMP • REGISTRATION: APRIL 4-JUNE 20
    Learn the importance of catching, throwing, and running with the football. In addition, coaches emphasize teamwork, consideration of others, self-discipline, and how to attain your potential in sports and life. As a result, campers become better football players while developing positive attitudes. Caretakers for 3-5-year-olds must stay for the camp’s duration, and caretakers for 6-13-year-olds are encouraged to join them.

    The class is a fun introduction to the game of tennis with instruction in the basics of the forehand, backhand, serve, and volley in a fast-paced, interactive environment. The last session is a game night with a chance to win prizes.

    Participants learn the basic skills of basketball, teamwork, and training for the next level. Players are drafted to teams, and the season begins with two weeks of practice. Teams will play eight games. Participants receive a jersey.

    Everyone should experience the substantial benefits of recreational sports, regardless of physical or developmental challenges. Challenger bowling provides an opportunity to build confidence and self-esteem for those with special needs. Participants learn skills and challenge themselves in a fun, positive program tailored specifically to their needs.

    HIGH-PERFORMANCE TENNIS ACADEMY • REGISTRATION: APRIL 4-JUNE 10

    The academy is for competitive athletes playing high school junior varsity or varsity matches or Level 1-5 USTA tournaments in Texas. The academy enhances technical, strategic, and physical capabilities through live-ball drills, match play, and conditioning. A USPTA-certified professional with over 20 years of experience at USTA junior and NCAA levels oversees the academy.

    Campers develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills, and enhance their skill sets at the post, wing, or guard positions. Coaches emphasize fundamentals, team play, and basketball IQ, along with an in-depth analysis of conditioning and footwork. In addition, campers fine-tune shooting techniques, ball-handling skills, and team play tactics while developing positive attitudes. Caretakers for 3-5-year-olds must stay for the camp’s duration, and caretakers for 6-13-year-olds are encouraged to join them.

    Non-contact 7-on-7 football provides a fun and exciting opportunity for continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork. Players are placed on teams and gain experience on offense and defense.

    FUNdamental Field Hockey introduces participants to the game by engaging them in core concepts, rules, skills, and strategy. The six-week program is taught by a former college player with coaching experience at the high school and college levels. Equipment is provided, cleats and shin guards are recommended, and mouth guards are required.

    Players learn basic strokes, scoring, and strategy through a fun, active introduction to tennis. Participants also engage in lively games to increase their enjoyment.

    Drill tennis is designed for players interested in playing in tournaments or leagues and who have had previous instruction by a tennis professional. Each stroke is covered in fun live-ball drills and match play. The drills integrate strategy and on-court tactics.

    ROUND-ROBIN TENNIS LEAGUE • REGISTRATION: APRIL 4-JUNE 10
    The league is for adults comfortable with match play and interested in competing in a lively social setting. Players are guaranteed doubles set (six-game, no-ad scoring) and single set (six-game, no-ad scoring) each week in a round-robin format, giving competitors a chance to face new opponents constantly.

    Recreation and competitive divisions are offered in the spring and fall. Teams may choose to play on Tuesday or Thursday nights. The eight-game round-robin schedule concludes with a tournament. No more than three males or four females can be on the court per team.
