The City of College Station is proud of the results we’ve achieved through our Veteran Recruiting and Employment Initiative. We strive to be an employer of choice to our veterans as they transition to civilian employment. From our relationship with local veteran services, to our connection with national programs, we are actively seeking ways to support our veteran community.
PARTNERSHIPS
Army Career and Alumni Program
The City of College Station is registered as an "Employer Who Wants to Hire Veterans" through the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP). Soldiers can easily browse or search registered companies on ACAP online and link to job opportunities listed on our CS Jobs page.
Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces (EPAF)
The Employer Partnership was created as a way to provide America's employers with a direct link to some of America's finest employees – Service members and their families. Through this partnership, the City of College Station notably respects the military training and experience that Veterans possess and works to solicit civilian career opportunities to assist in the career transition program.
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
The City of College Station signed an ESGR Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve, which outlines our loyalty to hiring veterans and our recognition that the Guard and Reserve are essential to the strength of our nation and the well-being of our communities. We join other employers in pledging that:
- We fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).
- Our manager and supervisors will have the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
- We will continually recognize and support our country's service members and their families in peace, in crisis and in war.
Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS)
The City of College Station is a strategic partner of the Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program. We recognize that Army veterans have leadership experience, skill training, discipline, work ethic, decision-making capability, and are able to work as part of a team. Army veterans exemplify the Army's "LDRSHIP" values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage.
We are proud to be an active agency in a program that provides America's youth with an opportunity to serve their country while they prepare for their future.
