College Station's Electric Utility provides the construction of new facilities needed to extend electrical service to new consumers, performs repairs and maintenance as needed to maintain the electric system, and installs and maintains street lights and rental lights.  Electric Utility personnel maintain over 20 miles of electric transmission lines, 5 electrical substations, and over 400 miles of overhead and underground electric distribution lines.

Electrical Safety Presentations - Following basic safety procedures can prevent most electrical injuries or damages. Our traveling "Hazard Hamlet" tabletop display shows the most common electrical hazards around the home, and how they can be avoided.

Flickering Lights / Voltage Problems - From time to time streetlights may "flicker" or go out completely. If this happens please contact Electric Supervisor Artis Lawson or Line Technician Brett Bradley, or call 24-hour Utility Dispatch at 979-764-3638, to report problems 24 hours a day.

Locate Underground Utility Lines: Call Before You Dig! - If you plan to do any digging around your property, always call (1-800-DIG-TESS / 1-800-344-8377) to have underground utilities located BEFORE you dig.

Security Lighting Assessment and Estimates - Is it a little too dark around your house? College Station Utilities will meet with you to discuss various lighting options and services and provide you with an estimated cost.

Report Trees In Power Line Easements - Tree trimming around power lines is DANGEROUS! If you see tree limbs growing into overhead electric lines, please call Utility Dispatch first, and we'll send trained crews to check out the problem.

Facility Connection Requirements – To obtain requirements for connecting to College Station’s transmission system (Voltage 138kV) contact Timothy Crabb at 979-764-3439.
