Kids Klub is a joint venture of the College Station Parks and Recreation and College Station ISD Community Education. Parks and Recreation is responsible for program management, and Community Education is responsible for fiscal administration.
The purpose of the Kids Klub is to provide quality, after-school care for the families of College Station at an affordable price.

HISTORY

Through the vision of Linda Cornelius, Sheila Walker and Alonzo Wood, The Kids Klub began in 1987. It was after the tragic abduction and murder of nine year old Kandy Kirtland, a latch key child in Bryan, that the founders decided something must be done. The program was designed as a joint venture of the City of College Station Parks & Recreation Department and the CSISD Community Education Department with the philosophy that the unique partnership would foster one of the best recreational based after school programs in the nation. The nature of this partnership remains one of the very few of its kind. The program has grown from approximately 365 children and operating in four elementary campuses in 1987 to over 1,000 children and operating in ten elementary and intermediate school campuses today.
