The excitement is building in College Station for the inaugural Texas Weekend of Remembrance set for May 25-27, 2018 at Veterans Park & Athletic Complex. We invite military members, veterans, their families, and everyone who would like to honor those who sacrificed their lives in service to our country. Our goal is to set a new standard for commemoration events that honor our fallen military men and women.

Admission is free. Concessions will be available for purchase. No outside food, drinks or pets are allowed. You may bring plastic water bottles and lawn chairs. Parking is available at Veterans Park & Athletic Complex.

TEAM RWB MEMORIAL DAY WOD & RUCK 
The ruck will start at Spence Park and move through Texas A&M campus to stop at mem significant military landmarks. Total distance is 3-5 miles. During the route, you will have the opportunity to share a story to the group of a fallen service member that you’re walking for. It’s free to participate.

VIETNAM VETERANS OF AMERICA 937 MEMORIAL CEREMONY

The Memorial Day ceremony is open to the public and includes presentation of the flags, prayers, a speaker, reading of some of the 61 names on the local Vietnam Veterans Monument, family shares, benediction and retirement of the flags. Free admission.

FLAG PLACEMENT ON VETERAN GRAVES
You’re invited to join community and veteran groups, such as Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Marine Corps League, National Sojourners, Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Wreaths Across America and Young Men’s Service League (YMSL), to remember those who lost their lives while serving our country by placing American flags on their graves.

AMERICAN LEGION 159 MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE
The American Legion will host their 2018 Memorial Day service that features the presentation of colors, prayers, commentary of Memorial Day history, a speech by a Gold Star mother, prayer and retirement of colors. Free admission and open to the public.

TEXAS A&M SAM HOUSTON SANDERS CORPS OF CADETS CENTER
The Corps Center is home to a museum that houses thousands of Aggie artifacts and a library with more than 3,000 military research volumes. The center depicts the Corps of Cadets from its beginning in 1876 to today. The exhibits include Silver Taps, the Aggie Band, Parsons Mounted Cavalry, the 12th Man, the Ross Volunteers, Aggie Muster, Bonfire, Reveille, an Aggie Ring case and the Metzger -Sanders Antique Firearm Collection.

TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY TOURS
Texas A&M remains one of only six senior military colleges. The Corps of Cadets is the largest uniformed body and has historically produced more officers than any other institution in the nation, outside the national service academies. Guided tours of campus are available for free.

TEXAS A&M MEMORIAL STUDENT CENTER
The Memorial Student Center (MSC) is a prominent symbol of Texas A&M’s strong history and tradition. It stands as a tribute to all Aggies that gave their lives for our country. Admission is free and open to the public.

MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN G.I.
On May 26 & 27, the museum will be “Remembering the Fallen” with special exhibits and displays, including the Vietnam Heroes Exhibit, World War I trench system tour, World War I Gold Star Aggies Exhibit and more. Throughout the weekend artillery salutes will be fired to honor the fallen. The museum proudly works to maintain and display historical, military uniforms and equipment. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for veterans and seniors, and $4 for kids ages 5-17.

GEORGE BUSH PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY & MUSEUM
The museum's core exhibits reveal the unique influences and challenges that shaped the 41st United States President George H. W. Bush's life and presidency. See a World War II Avenger Torpedo Bomber, a 1947 Studebaker, a slab of the Berlin Wall, and precise replicas of President Bush's Camp David and Situation Room. Try landing a plane on an aircraft carrier, or have your picture made while seated at the desk in the replica Oval Office. In addition, a special section is dedicated to First Lady Barbara Bush. Free admission for all veterans May 25-28.

May 24-29, there will be a photographic tribute honoring World War I Brazos County and Texas A&M soldiers. This focused exhibit can be viewed without purchasing a museum ticket.
