The City of College Station Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) was created by City Ordinance on April 9, 1986. The HPC is made up of nine citizens who are appointed by City Council for two year terms. The committee is supported by the Department of Public Communications and Marketing staff through Community Programs.
HPC meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 4 p.m. in the College Station Conference Center, Room 103, 1300 George Bush Drive. For information regarding this committee, contact Anne Boykin at aboykin@cstx.gov or 979.764.3491.
The Historic Preservation Committee is charged by City Ordinance, Section 23, "to aid in the collection and preservation of the history of the City of College Station and its' environs, and to provide for the education of citizens on the history of this City."
Project HOLD, the historic online library database, is an ongoing effort manned primarily by volunteers who scan photos, documents and memorabilia into our website (http://HOLD.cstx.gov) for all to enjoy. THe HPC sponsors the Exploring History Lunch Lecture Series on the third Wednesdays of the month. This popular and informative series is held from 11:30 am to 1 pm at the College Station Conference Center, Room 127, 1300 George Bush Drive. Luncheon cost is $5.00 per person.
