Halloween on 19

Channel 19 becomes "Fright-teen" for Halloween

Special holiday movie line-up comes to government "ax-cess" television. Classic films such as "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "The Phantom of the Opera" will highlight a days of special Halloween programming on the City of College Station's Channel 19 and 119HD (Suddenlink). Introduced by the city's own Lacey "El-Livra" Lively, a total of 18 classic and vintage horror films will be shown Oct. 28-31. A variety of short, yet entertaining, city programming will air between the movies to allow viewers unfamiliar with Channel 19 to get an idea of the useful information that is routinely found there.

Why Halloween movies?
Each part of our City Council Strategic Initiatives includes a directive to "share information and communicate with citizens about city issues through various media outlets." Channel 19 is one of many outlets at our disposal. The annual Halloween vintage film series, which began in 2009, attracts viewers to Channel 19 who would probably never turn to it. Between movies, city-related information is presented in a fun way. Hopefully, this inspires more viewers like you to try Channel 19 throughout the year.
