One of the best ways to learn about the College Station Fire Department is by touring one of our six fire stations. During tours, you can see the firefighters' kitchen, TV/day room, and apparatus bay. Visitors may also climb on the engines, the ladder truck, see the ambulances, and maybe even try on some firefighter gear!
Fire station tours generally last between 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of your group.
At least five people must be in attendance for a fire station tour. If you have a group of fewer than five people, there is no need to schedule a tour in advance. You are welcome to visit a fire station at your convenience within the time frames listed below. If the crew is not busy, they will provided a guided tour.
Fire station tours are limited to 25 people. Groups with more than 25 participants must submit separate requests on separate days or schedule a prevention program.
Tours require one adult for every five children.
Fire crews will remain in service and may be called to an emergency while your tour is in progress, or they may be on a call when you arrive. Please allow an amount of time that you determine is reasonable to wait for the crew to return. If the crew does not return or must leave during your tour, all efforts will be made to re-schedule.
Fire station tours do not include fire safety presentations or lessons.
Birthday parties and private events may not be held at fire stations.
Fire station tours can be scheduled during the following times:
- 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
- 1-4 p.m.
- 7-9 p.m.
It is recommended that station tour requests be submitted at least four weeks in advance, although requests can be made at any time.
Submitting a request for a fire station tour does not guarantee that one of the times you request can be filled.
After your request has been submitted, a member of the fire department will contact you to schedule a time for your tour. Please allow five business days for processing your request, although it is likely that your request will be processed within 48 hours.
