Notice of Deadline to File Applications for Place on the Ballot

The mayor’s seat and three places on the College Station City Council are at stake in the November 8th general and special elections. The deadline for filing for Mayor and Place 2 is August 22nd, and the deadline for Place 3 and 4 is August 25th.

Mayor (General Election)
Full three-year term. 
    •   Karl P. Mooney
    •   John Nichols

Place 2 (General Election)
Full three-year term.
    •   Jerome Rektorik

Place 3 (Special Election)
One-year term to complete the unexpired term of Karl Mooney, who is running for mayor. The current term expires in November 2017.
    •   Linda Harvell

Place 4 (Special Election)
Two-year term to complete the unexpired term of John Nichols, who is running for mayor. The current term expires in November 2018.
    •   Joe Guerra, Jr.
    •   Barry Moore

Eligibility
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizens, qualified Texas voters, and College Station residents for at least one year prior to Election Day.  Candidate information packets are available at the City Secretary’s Office at College Station City Hall, located at 1101 Texas Ave.

Important Dates
August 22 – General Election Filing Deadline
August 25 – Special Election Filing Deadline
October 11 – Voter Registration Deadline
October 24 - November 4 – Early Voting
November 8 – Election Day
