City Council Places 1, 3, & 5 will be up for three-year terms.

Candidates for the College Station City Council can file for a place on the November ballot July 19- Aug. 18. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizens, qualified Texas voters, and College Station residents for at least one year prior to Election Day.

Candidate information packets are available at the City Secretary’s Office at College Station City Hall, located at 1101 Texas Avenue. Click here for an online overview of council duties and responsibilities.

GENERAL CITY ELECTION CALENDAR
JULY 19
- First day to file for place on ballot.

AUG. 18 - Last day to file for place on ballot. Last day to order General Election. 

AUG. 25 - Last day for a candidate to withdraw and have name removed from ballot.

AUG. 26 - Drawing for order of candidates on ballot, City Secretary’s office, 9 a.m.

SEPT. 5 - First day to apply for ballot by mail.

OCT. 6 - Last day to submit voter registration application to Brazos County Voter Registrar. First report due of campaign and expenditures by opposed candidates and specific purpose committee.

OCT. 17 - Last day to receive applications for ballot by mail in person.

OCT. 20-31 - Early voting by personal appearance.

OCT. 24 - Last day to receive application by mail for a ballot to be voted by mail.

OCT. 27 - Second report due of campaign and expenditures by opposed candidates and specific purpose committee.

NOV. 4 - ELECTION DAY, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

NOV. 12-18 - Period for official canvass of election.

DEC. 16 (tentative) - Recommended Runoff Election Day, if necessary.
