COLLEGE STATION POLICE DEPARTMENT
Major Crash 14-008866
On August 12, 2014 at about 1840 hours officers responded to the 1700 block of Texas Ave. for a vehicle crash. On arrival they found that a gray Toyota Camry had collided with a black Volkswagen. There were two adult occupants in the Toyota and one adult occupant in the Volkswagen. All occupants were transported to area hospitals with various injuries. One of the occupants sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
A further investigation revealed that the Toyota was traveling south on Texas Ave. in the northbound lanes. This caused the Toyota to strike the Volkswagen, which had been traveling north in the northbound lanes. Intoxication was not a factor in this crash.
Roadways in and around the crash scene were closed for approximately three hours while the incident was investigated. They have since reopened.
The accident is still under investigation. If you have information you may call the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.
