Case #14-007612

On July 11, 2014 at approximately 0458 hrs, Officers of the College Station Police Department met with an 18 year old female victim at the College Station Police Department who reported the following information.

The victim reported that she had been asleep at her residence in the 1800 blk of Holleman when she answered a knock at her front door as thinking it was a friend of hers. Upon opening the door, the suspect forced his way inside the residence and began to physically assault the victim. During the course of this physical assault the suspect also sexually assaulted the victim before leaving the residence.

The victim obtained assistance from a family member and responded to the College Station Police Department to report this offense and members of the Criminal Investigations Division responded to continue the investigation. The victim was able to provide detectives with a name of the suspect who was a resident of the same apartment complex.

Detectives were able to obtain a warrant for the suspect’s residence during the course of the follow up investigation the suspect was located and was taken into custody without further incident. He was charged with Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Sexual Assault (1st Degree Felony). The suspect is identified as:

Cody Ryan Smith
25 year old male
College Station, TX resident

July 11, 2014 – News Release: Sexual Assault

On July 11, 2014 a victim responded to the College Station Police Department to report a sexual assault which had occurred the same day. This occurred at the victim’s residence by a known suspect. The victim has chosen to participate in the pseudonym program and elected that her personal information not be revealed.

The investigation continues by the Criminal Investigations Division of the College Station Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact CSPD at 979-764-3600.
