Posted Date: 3/7/2012 11:00 AM

The City of College Station is proposing a change to the way it uses federal grants to improve infrastructure in low to moderate income neighborhoods. The city is requesting public comment on the proposed amendment to its 2008 Annual Action Plan.

The amendment revises the use of Community Development Block Grants under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The funds would be diverted from other CDBG-funded projects for the construction of sidewalks on Holleman Drive, Lassie Drive, Manuel Drive and Pedernales Street.

The complete amendment can be viewed online at, and copies are available at College Station City Hall, the Larry J. Ringer Public Library, the Lincoln Recreation Center and the city’s Community Development office.

The deadline for public comments is Tuesday, March 13. Written comments may be mailed to the Community Development Unit, City of College Station, P. O. Box 9960, College Station, TX 77842, or emailed to Community Development Manager Debbie Eller at Comments also are accepted at 979.764.3778.
