The Sanitation Division provides a number of services to meet the local need for the collection of municipal solid waste. A Clean Texas Leader, the City of College Station has a commitment to waste reduction and recycling. In 2008, we reduced the amount of waste going to the landfill from our residences by 16.17% (3,834 tons) through curbside recycling and clean green brush collection.

Collection Day Changes
The Sanitation Division conducted a route balancing project in order to increase collection efficiency and to respond to a larger workload due to growth in the city. Residents affected by the route balancing were notified with a door tag in January 2008.
