College Station's Electric Utility provides the construction of new facilities needed to extend electrical service to new consumers, performs repairs and maintenance as needed to maintain the electric system, and installs and maintains street lights and rental lights. Electric Utility personnel maintain over 20 miles of electric transmission lines, 5 electrical substations, and over 400 miles of overhead and underground electric distribution lines.
Locate Underground Utility Lines -- Call Before You Dig!
If you plan to do any digging around your property, always call Texas 811 (8-1-1) to have underground utilities located BEFORE you dig.
Security Lighting Assessment and Estimates
Is it a little too dark around your house? College Station Utilities will meet with you to discuss various lighting options and services and provide you with an estimated cost.
Electrical Safety Presentations
Following basic safety procedures can prevent most electrical injuries or damages. Our traveling "Hazard Hamlet" tabletop display shows the most common electrical hazards around the home, and how they can be avoided.
Flickering Lights / Voltage Problems
From time to time streetlights may "flicker" or go out completely. If this happens please contact Electric Supervisor Artis Lawson, Line Technician Brett Bradley, or please have your CSU account number ready and call 24-hour Utility Dispatch at 855-528-4278.
Report Trees In Power Line Easements
Tree trimming around power lines is DANGEROUS! If you see tree limbs growing into overhead electric lines, please call Utility Dispatch first, and we'll send trained crews to check out the problem.
