Water Services Department

New water rates take effect July 1

The Water Services Department works hard to provide customers with safe, high-quality drinking water and outstanding wastewater treatment services. This effort begins at the water source and continues throughout the water distribution and wastewater treatment process.

The Water Services Department operates as a self-sustaining Enterprise Fund, meaning it receives no revenue from sales tax or property taxes. Water Services operates entirely on funds generated from water and wastewater rates and service charges from our customers.

In order to ensure that available water resources are put to the most beneficial use, the City of College Station has adopted a Water Conservation Plan and a Drought Contingency Plan. These plans are reviewed and updated every five years, in accordance with Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The last update for both plans were approved by City Council on April 24, 2014 and submitted to TCEQ by May 1, 2014.
