LT. MARK LANGWELL
RETIRES FROM CS POLICE

Lt. Mark Langwell
On Tuesday, June 30, 2009, Lt. Mark Langwell retired from the College Station Police Department following 27 years of exceptional service.
Lt. Langwell holds a Master Peace Officer Certification with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education. He is a graduate of the Southwestern Law Enforcement Institute 37th Management College and the 57th class of the Law Enforcement Management Institute Texas (LEMIT). He also received his Industrial Tech/Criminal Justice Teacher Certification from Sam Houston State University. Lt. Langwell is currently an Adjunct Instructor for the Texas Engineering Extension Service and a guest instructor for LEMIT. In the past, Lt. Langwell has combined his love of teaching with his love of sports by teaching ethics to football student athletes at A&M Consolidated High School and at Texas A&M University.
In his “spare” time, Lt. Langwell has been an active member of the community. He is a graduate of 2005/06 Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce Leadership Brazos class, past president and board member of the Tiger Club, past board member of the College Station Little League and a member of Grace Bible Church.
Mark has been married for 26 years to his wife Sandy (bless her heart). They have three athletically gifted children. Megan is a graduate of the University of Tulsa where she was a Track/Cross Country student-athlete. Matt was a Senior Baseball student-athlete at Rice University until June when he signed a professional baseball contract with the Cleveland Indians. Dusty is a Senior Track/Cross Country student-athlete at Texas A&M University.
The community will still benefit from Mark’s service as he will once again return to his profession within his profession – teaching. His influence on those he teaches will benefit our community for years to come.
